Intelligence testing (Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale IV) to evaluate new applicants for long-term care insurance policies when the insurance company is concerned about the applicant’s cognitive functioning.
Neuropsychological testing to evaluate cognitive abilities when there is a claim of impairment from concussion, traumatic brain injury, early-onset dementia, or chemotherapy. Insurance companies typically request neuropsychological testing for disability determination or independent medical examinations (IMEs) when cognitive disorders are reported.
